the power of other people + feeling seen

November 2024

Hi friend,

Community is more important than ever right now.

If you’re feeling isolated or uncertain in your career (or let's be real, in life), here are 3 communities that can support you:

❤️ the old girls club - Old Girls Community
The most helpful and active Slack group for women that I've been a part of. You can ask questions and get feedback on everything from wellness to consulting.
Apply directly on their website.

❤️ Leopard.FYI
Truly a game-changer for senior women & non-binary engineers looking for a new role. It’s the community I *wish* I had when I was interviewing as an EM, with salary and funding info, plus a whisper network.
I advise here and it's GROWING, to now over 1,500+ members.

❤️ AuthenTech
Ok, a little shameless plug here 😂 .
But after our post-election session, I was reminded just how powerful community can be. Especially when it can feel so lonely as a senior women in tech.

One woman said "I feel seen and hopeful" at the end of our call and this is EVERYTHING.

And then Leigh chimed in and practically broke my heart:

Our next cohort begins in January—to save a spot join the early bird! https://tally.so/r/nPlY5x.

Or, consider joining my not-yet-announced Voice Retreat.

What other communities are you a part of?

My clients make waves

I love to brag about my clients and here are some of the incredible things they’ve accomplished recently:

  • Posting on LinkedIn for the first time in years AND landing a client FROM THAT ONE POST! What a serious win. They were dreading posting and worried about judgment but then, look what kind of magic happened.
  • Landing a Chief Of Staff Role! After being laid off as a product leader, this woman pivoted into more of a strategic Chief Of Staff role and got an offer within 2 months. (Last time we worked together she also landed a product role within weeks. She's incredible.)
  • Building creativity into their practice. A very busy and tired engineering director created her own DnD character using AI and we've leapt into other creative endeavors which are giving her energy.
  • Being seen. Not only feeling seen but allowing themselves to be seen. This senior software engineer used to be terrified of being seen but is now reaching out for coffee chats about design and started writing her own blog. Incredible.

Looking forward

I'm fully booked for the year supporting 19 clients through 1:1 coaching and AuthenTech. Plus, I'll be heading to the land of smiles (ahem, Thailand) this Friday. Truly, truly fortunate.

If you're excited and intrigued about working together, here are ways we can make it happen.

More info on it here!

Cozy nuggets

  • I've been navigating grief and joy as best I can, while dodging life logistics (ahem, obstacles).

This song came up on my Spotify shuffle last week and I won't lie, I started bawling in my home, right before I had to join a call. Gah. I'm tearing up even writing the lyrics out while I'm in a too-hipster-for-its-own-good London cafe.

Please listen to it.
